In the past few years, many houses in prime locations have been completely re-developed and Tanya has found herself in great demand, becoming involved early on in the build process, and working closely with architects and the building contractors. Whilst it might appear that curtains and blinds come right at the end of the build, the importance of planning for them and the fitting of specialist tracks, and their integration with the position of lighting, furniture and so on, cannot be overstressed. The very earliest of first fixing electrical wiring, will affect the positioning of sockets and switches. This can impact on the fitting of tracks and poles and headboards in particular, many many months later. In short, it is never too early to involve us in a building project.
Out of her experience of working on these large building developments, and appreciating the difficulties of overseeing and planning projects, particularly from a distance, Tanya now provides a complete interior design service. This includes the creation of mood boards, drawing up paint schemes, predominantly using Farrow & Ball paints (www.farrow-ball.com) and supplying wallpaper from Farrow & Ball and many of the fabric houses.
We can supply carpet and rugs, and furniture, from beds and sofas to coffee tables and small occasional furniture. Lighting design is developing very quickly and a carefully planned scheme can transform an interior; conversely a poor scheme is costly to put right. We turn to the lighting experts for this and we'll be happy to organise this for you. For decorative lights we use Porta Romana (www.portaromana.co.uk), Heathfield Lighting (www.heathfield.co.uk) and other trade suppliers and if you need a new bathroom, we'll source tiles and sanitaryware.
For small building projects, such as internal alterations, extensions and so on. we can project manage the whole process using tried and trusted local tradesmen, whom we've worked with extensively.
It is our policy that, as far as possible, you should know in advance how much things are going to cost and we always provide written quotations, before placing any orders or starting work.
